All of our ‘Safety Chair’ training is certificated so that you can provide proof of any training that you have taken with Safety Chair. We provide certificates after completion, for all course candidates.

'Train the Trainer' Course
The ‘Train the Trainer’ Course is a 6 hour session designed for those employers who wish to communicate a high standard of evacuation chair training to their workforce.
The purpose of the ‘Train the Trainer’ course is to enable people to not only be confident in the use of a Safety Chair but be able to cascade their developed knowledge and practical skills to the people around them.
‘Train the Trainer’ course includes:
Your ‘Train the Trainer’ course can include up to 4 people at your site to show you how to use your evacuation chair in an emergency.
- All delegates receive training material
- Supervised operation on your stairs
- Explanations of latest legislation, approved codes of practice, reference to key manual handling principles
- Certification in the safe use of the chair
- ‘Train the Trainer’ certification

What is a Train the Trainer evacuation chair course?
A Train the Trainer course teaches one or more members of your organisation to become qualified internal instructors in the safe use of evacuation chairs. After completing the course, they can confidently train other staff, helping you maintain ongoing compliance and emergency readiness in-house.

Operator Training teaches staff how to use the evacuation chair safely during an evacuation.
Our Train the Trainer course goes further as it equips you to teach others how to use it.
If you have:
High staff turnover,
Multiple departments, or
A legal requirement to keep trained operators available at all times,
Then ‘Train the Trainer’ is the more cost-effective long-term solution.
Can we use our own evacuation chairs during training?
Yes and we recommend it.
Training using your existing equipment ensures:
Staff recognise the chair they will be using in a real evacuation
Correct handling of your specific chair type
Confidence during an emergency event
If your chairs are mixed-brand or older models, our trainers will adapt the course accordingly.
How often should refresher training be done?
Our Evacuation Chair Training courses certify you for 3 years, but we recommend refresher training every 12 months. If you have new staff or staff turnover is high, it keeps your team competency high.Â
