Do I need training to use the EV-4000 safely?
While the chair is straightforward to use, evacuation chair training is strongly recommended. Proper training ensures staff can operate the chair confidently and safely in an emergency and helps your organisation meet health and safety compliance standards. We offer Operator Trainer and Train the Trainer courses, to fit all business needs.
Is the EV-4000 suitable for my building?
The EV-4000 is widely used in offices, schools, care homes, and public buildings. Its lightweight frame, intuitive design, and robust track system make it ideal for environments where a cost-effective, reliable evacuation chair is needed. There are some uncommon scenarios where you would need specialist equipment to navigate such as spiral staircases. Book a site survey to be sure you purchase the correct chair for your building.
Can the EV-4000 be used to carry someone up the stairs?
The EV-4000 is specifically designed for downward stair evacuation only. If you need to evacuate individuals up stairs, we recommend our EV-7000 (with built in carry handles) or our EV-8000 Motorised Stair Chairs.
How often should my Evacuation Chair be serviced?
We recommend a minimum of one service per year. Under PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations), evacuation chairs are classed as Class 1 Medical Devices. That means they must be inspected by a competent person to remain compliant and safe for use. We offer Full Servicing packages for your peace of mind.
